Filming Has Begun for Two Christmases, One Lesya!
Starlight Production, Green Light Films, and Novy Kanal have begun work on a new holiday comedy, Two Christmases, One Lesya, which will be released in cinemas on January 1, 2027.
The film tells a story about the choice between simple human happiness and a life that appears perfect on Instagram. On the eve of Christmas, the main character gets a chance to see what her life could have looked like if, 14 years earlier, she had chosen a different path.
Yurii Mykulenko, creator and showrunner, said:
“This is a story about the syndrome of postponed life and the constant ‘what if.’ Our film reminds us that happiness should not be postponed, no matter the circumstances.”
Olena Antonova, producer of the film and Head of Studio 1 at Starlight Production, commented:
“Originally, this was meant to be a four-episode series, but we realized the story deserves the big screen. I also believe that the Christmas comedy genre is especially relevant right now, even though there is so much drama around us. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, I have felt that those who know how to have fun, create positivity, and bring laughter despite everything will also find comfort in our entertainment projects.”
The lead role is played by Lesia Nikitiuk. The film also stars Volodymyr Kravchuk, Irma Vitovska, Yakiv Kucherievskyi, Yevhen Lishchynii, Oleksandr Sokolov, Yevheniia Miakenka, Vitalii Salii, and others.
Viewers can also expect a special Christmas musical surprise. An original track is being created for the film in collaboration with a very well-known Ukrainian artist. The name is still being kept secret, but the creators promise real “shock content” — in the best possible sense.
